Way to go Peanut butter puffy butt! :)
She is the eldest in my flock of 10 and the 2nd to lay. Pink, my first layer, has been steadily laying since 12/28, she left me 7 eggs in the past 8 days. I have a few more that are squatters for the past few days so I’m expecting a few more will start very soon! EE’s, RIR’s, sexlinks & 1 more Leghorn so I shall have a colorful egg basket when they all get going.

Both of my Welsummers, Tikka and Masala, have yet to show any sign of laying, and they were hatched in May. Both of my barred rocks and at least two of my EEs are laying, but the welsummers don't even squat when i go to pick them up. They just run away, so i guess they wont be laying for a while. I just hope that they lay darker eggs than my barred rocks. I won't know for a while i guess, but i'm worried since i purchased them from Ideal. Who knows what quality the eggs will be :lau

Awe yeah! Proud mama moment here. Somehow I missed this post. Way to go puffy butt!!! Doesn't it make you feel like you're doing something right?
Oh yes the long awaited feeling of success!

I came home to the first blue egg today. Still need to examine 2 of the 3 Ameraucanas/EE to determine who laid it. She didn’t make it to the nest box either, it was on the ground in the run near the water dispenser. I now have 3 layers 23-25 weeks old mixed flock 7 more to go.

It’s been a very exciting 2 weeks!

SOOOO EXCITING! :celebrate:eek::celebrateI can't wait for a blue egg, but I'm fairly certain that my girl that will lay a blue egg is going to be dead last.

And @katie's coop I just went to see if the girls are ready to be locked up for the night and I found another egg in the run by the watered as well! 2 duds are no longer duds! I'm waiting on one more and know exactly who. Little dot got sick when she was little and has always been the smallest and a bit behind the other girls. She's getting redder, but I'm sure now she is the only one not laying!
