too funny.....I do the same with my girls when I have grilled chicken, so far they are not taking me serious, but thanksgiving is right around the corner....lol
 
I have 12 chickens total... and of those, three are paying rent. Both of my Hamburgs (29 wks) are leaving lovely little eggs almost daily, and my leghorn (22 wks) does as well. The rest of my ladies; the Brahmas and BJG (28 wks) are getting to be spinsters, and freeloading spinsters at that! The rest; the GLW, SS, EE, BR, and Buckeye (22 wks) are old enough, but aren't paying rent yet either. I think we'll wait and see which of the two groups lays first... but if its the younger girls, I'm going to have to have some serious grill talk with the spinsters.
Oh, and the only ones squatting are my layers.
 
Its so hard to decide which dud to post about! LOL. Ill go with Rosie, the faverolles. She is 29 weeks old, likes to sing the egg song, squat and go in and out of nests. But doesn't like to actually lay an egg! She is a "special" girl, who can't run in a straight line. She tends to walk in circles and frequently gets lost while walking around a tree.
