.....Or pee'd in my bed.

Yeah that kinda makes a statement there. :(

@Ninjasquirrel,
Did I read that your yard is not fenced?
Border collie are good escape artists but perhaps a big dog kennel in the yard can help for potty time.
My old dog and his now passed brother never ever peed or pooped while on leash....ever. Thinking if she is on leash for potty that may be contributing to the failure to potty outside.

We do have a fenced in yard but she has to be on the leash if the chickens are out.
I thought I'd feel better this morning after a good night's sleep. I do not. I cant even look at her. I am seriously considering getting rid of her. She broke the dynamic. I'm going to call the vet today for advise but the SO and I are going to discuss this tonight. I'm tired from staying up late to try and get her to pee. I'm trying really hard but I'm on the edge here. I do love her...I just hate this new behavior.

I can understand that.
I wonder how many other homes she's been in and then returned to the shelter?

Have returned 2 adopted dogs.
One attacked me full on, had me on the floor my arm in his mouth, after just a few days.
Long story there, but in hindsight there were clues at pickup that I should have never brought it home.
Another I fostered for 2 months, despite much pressure from shelter to 'commit'.
Took that long to ascertain it's true nature and realize it wasn't a good fit for us.

Curious, why did you want a dog and why this one?

We wanted a dog for companionship, love and protection. We wanted a dog we could play with and love. We picked her because she is smart, housebroken, cute, playful and energetic. I can tell she knows she screwed up. Shes being way more lovey than usual. I'm just really upset. It's like shes a totally different dog at bedtime. During the day shes sweet and lovey, listens to everything I tell her and follows the rules of the house. At night she is stubborn and obnoxious. It's gotta be because she doesnt want to sleep locked up but I'm afraid if we don't she will pee elsewhere. Last night I had taken her put to pee and she didnt go. She must have snuck in our room to pee in the bed. I'm thinking that was a territorial thing. Like "this is where I want to sleep. This is mine". I'm not sure but usually when dogs do it in the house it is an accident...usually in a corner somewhere. This did not seem like an accident. It seemed purposeful.

Yeppers.
Wonders what she went thru before that she has a fear of nighttime?
Can you put crate in your bedroom or very near it?
Shes in the guest room right now. That might be a good idea. I called the vet for advice and they are supposed to be calling me back. I know she's afraid of the rain though. Thats why I think she might have been at least put outside at night. That could be why. I dont want to give up on her since its just this behavior that is bad. I just took her out and she pooped but did not pee. Ive got all the doors shut so she cant sneak away to pee. We're gonna try again in a bit

This story has gotten to the ugly stage, and I think she's not going to work out for you, or anyone. Do you have wounds, or was it 'pressure', not punctures? If wounds, get them treated. If pressure, the next episode will likely be worse. It's not about 'night fears' or whatever, it's about her response to you over her concerns. And owning your bed? Wow!
This 'rescue' group placed a dog who shouldn't have been sent out in the first place, very likely, and/ or they have no idea how to evaluate temperament, or just don't care.
Every dog can't move into a normal family situation! Some need to be managed by experts, and those experts have enough to do, and can't take on every 'difficult' individual.
I hope you can get help where you live, and that things work out the best for you and your family.
Mary
