I've followed the links suggested, not finding much help. I will take pics and post them if I can figure that out. I'm not savvy on how to do pics on this site, but I will try! Okay, have my image uploaded, don't know how to apply it to my message. This is hard!!

as far as the turkey is concerned. If the break has healed and its turned . The only thing what would help is rebreaking the leg, put it into the normal position and then splint it. But that would be rather painful for him.

if he cant balance himself and its still painful and his quality of life is not so good.. Put him out of his misery.


And to put him down..well there are a lot of methods.. I cant tell you which one is best.
I would think to chop his head off with one swoop would do it ?

I cull with a pair of kitchen shears, the heavy duty kind. They dont see it coming and its instant.

I know that sounds brutal and for you this is a pet, so I am actually trying to be very respectful of that. But it only seems hard until you do it. Then you realize that its instant, and the last thing the little guy saw was the random nice lady who brings him treats, something happy. Its not a bad way to go.

I saw a post where someone used a side-lop pruner. He got behind the bird and snip! all done. I am sorry for your loss, but it's better to do this if he has no quality of life.
