Even if you hate candy corn (like I do) you have got to try this super simple recipe!

Butterfingers
1 lb bag Brachs candy corn
1 12oz jar crunchy peanut butter
1 bag semi-sweet chocolate chips
2 T shortening

In a large glass bowl melt candy corn in mircowave on HIGH for 1 minute. Stir. Microwave for 15 sec more stir, repeat 15 sec intervals until completly melted. Add peanut butter and stir until blended.

Line an 8x8 pyrex with parchment paper and smooth candy/PB mixture into dish. Smooth out top and put in freezer for 20 minutes or until set (uncovered).

Meanwhile, in a double boiler melt chocolate chips and add the shortening. Take the 8x8 out of the freezer and cut up the mixture into bars. Dip the bars into the chocolate and set on a parchment paper lined cookie sheet. Return to freezer to set.

Can yield 50 bite sized bars, just depends how you cut them up.

I made these this morning and since the kids and I were impatient we rolled didn't wait for it to set enough to cut it up so we made butterfinger balls! SO SO GOOD!! I will be stocking up on candy corn for Christmas!!

But this recipe makes me want to stock up on the post-Halloween sales and make some for Christmas presents

Do you think the finished bars would freeze well?

this is kind of funny cause I was wondering what could be done with candy corn. I only love it because it is a memory candy for me as a child and when I see it it screams Halloween and the smell is pure sweetness to me, lol. Now I know what I can do with it, thanks !!

So I made ur recipe and everyone ate like hogs in a corn bin, me included. Oh my it is so good. Now I'm gonna use white chocolate with xmas sprinkles. Oh I have an almond joy recipe if anyone wants it.
