A dozen 3 week chicks❤️

Chicks are now 4 weeks old and feeling very confident my Barnevelder is a rooster. Hoping the rest are pullets. Here's the latest pictures from Easter morning. PXL_20210404_163607242.MP~2.jpg

The rest of your cuties all look like Pullets SO FAR. :):)

Thanks, so are both of these chicks pullets? Are you referring to the color or the width of the barring?

Also are your chicks a cross? Mine don't have feathers down their legs like yours
These are Gold Partridge Brahmas, different breed, but will show same signs of being male and female. They are a variety that's pencilled, but males will eventually not be pencilled at all. My pics are of a pair, the male the one that's getting in black feathers :)

@Rhodebar Lover Oh awesome advice, thank you! I bet they'll be so beautiful when mature :)
Here's an article that shows the difference between the partridge that your rocks will have versus my Brahmas. I understand that they have the addition of mahogany which will make their color darker than my Brahmas! Here are some grown pics of that show just how sexually dimorphic the variety is! https://poultrykeeper.com/poultry-breeding/the-other-type-of-gold-red/

Hello everyone,

Wanting to share our new 3 week old babies and start soliciting any guesses about sex or breed 🙃 I know they're a bit young to have any definitive answers, but it seems like people are into the guessing game on here.

For context we have 12 chicks who should be all female but I know sexing is rarely 100%. The only one whose breed I'm certain of is Trout (Barnevelder) because they were banded on arrival. I know I have 2 Super Blues and 2 white easter eggers and 1 Delaware. Because they were all yellow as chicks and are feathering our white they're hard to distinguish by breed. The other 6 are "assorted brown layers"

1: Trout, fairly certain they're a Barnevelder, convinced (probably irrationally) they might be a rooster.

2: Stark I believe could be a gold laced wyandotte.

3: Doppio. Also I think could be a gold laced wyandotte. She's much much smaller than everyone else in the flock.

4: Hedwig. I think she's either a white easter egger or the delaware.

5: Wanda here I believe could be a jersey giant.

6 & 7: Malasada and Beignet I think could both be buff orpingtons. (Cont. in comments)
I’m horrible at Sexing chickens but #1 looks like a Wyandotte

Trout, #1, I'm very certain is a Barnevelder. I know it's hard to tell in that photo but he has a single comb, not a rose comb. He was also the only chick that came banded on arrival for his breed.

I had also thought my partridge rocks might be gold laced wyandottes until their combs started to show.

Anyways, here's more photos of Trout :) PXL_20210404_162741923.MP.jpg
