I have four 2-year-old Golden Comet sexlinks, and three 1 year old hens: two buff Orpington and one barred rock. This past week I got one dozen eggs from them. Does that sound like a reasonable amount for these birds? DH is complaining about how few they are laying, even though when we first were getting eggs(from eight sexlinks) he was talking about being inundated with eggs, lol. No pleasing some people, I guess!

I would be amazed if one of the comets is laying, also. She was sick and has recovered enough that she is active and eating, but she is still very thin, and she sleeps on the floor of the coop. I don't think she would be able to get up in a nest box.

Golden Comets are production layers who lay most of their eggs in their first couple of years of laying. It is possible they are nearing the end of their egg-laying years, and only laying the occasional egg, leaving you with the three 1-year-olds doing the bulk of the laying.
