a few duck questions

Yes, he can be dusted, but he needs to be dried off though.
But since he's always preening I would wonder what would happen if he would happen to ingest some of that stuff.

I've never dusted my birds before, but I'm always on the lookout for mite and etc. I havn't had to dust any birds in the 7-8 years that I've been raising them.
*Knock on Wood* I hope I won't ever need to either!

i have ducklings but theyre a week old lol. which are blue swedishes and a white pekin. i'm going to a show in jan and if i see any about his size i'll grab her. i have a blue swedish male in my ducklings so i dont want him picked on again

My drake who is 6 months old today, does that when he gets ahold he doesn't let go, and yep it hurts. sounds like you have it under control. Are you keeping him if so I would think about getting him a friend they really like to have one or two of their own kind around.

I really doubt he has mites especially if he is bathing regular, it's probably the scabs and feathers coming back in don't you think?

If he is molting, That's the WORST molt I've seen on a 4 month old duck ever! I'm just shocked that this 4 month old duck is molting that bad!
I'm also shocked that he is getting scabs, new feathers coming in should cause little to no pain at all.

I'm also wondering if he could be allergic to something he is eating or if something is in the bedding. There's so many possibilities here.

bigger ducks kept picking on him thats why he looks this bad, if you seen him up close and personal its worse

You just got him yesterday? How were the living conditions he was in, what were the feeding him, what bedding were they useing, were they over crowded in a small pen?
Pecking and feathing eating could also be a symptom if he and others were housed in a small pen.

Once a feather eater always a feather eater.
