a few duck questions

when he gets all his feathers back i'll take new pics for you all to see how he turns out. i know ducks are wet and their houses can get wet, i plan on having my ducks free range(in hope the boys dont fight) that way he can experience the ground too like a duck should

Thats a good idea, still might be some problems but hopefully with enough room and Enough girls it will work itself out, I have 2 drakes and a gander and for the most part they do pretty good together. Try giving him frozen peas warmed in warm water starting with a few on the ground and working up to where he is eating out of your hand, Most ducks Love peas. the green english peas. Good luck with finding him a friend if your going to a show you shouldn't have much problem with that. May even find a cute lil call duck not too expensive.

You just got him yesterday? How were the living conditions he was in, what were the feeding him, what bedding were they useing, were they over crowded in a small pen?
Pecking and feathing eating could also be a symptom if he and others were housed in a small pen.

Once a feather eater always a feather eater.

WHY DO THESE PEOPLE HAVE DUCKS/CHICKENS ????? hard to hear when they live in bad conditions .. errrrrrrrr..

i think i need a hearing aid lol jk, idk why they have these people have these animals, i cant stand going in the coops, it just smells too bad. her daughter who's 9 and does 4-h doesnt know any better and thinks its not a big deal. i personally dont want my coops to smell, lol i clean it probably once a week if they're in there often other then that its once every 2 weeks. their nesting boxes if they're not sitting on eggs i clean every other day. that's just the way i am, i also have everyone free ranging cause that's what they like. maybe they have them just for their eggs and to say they have them. idk

they are all soooo different..... they were raised like that but those 2 dont even get super close to me now.( I can coax them with treats ).. my very first 3 come up to me all the time and I can pick 2 of the boys up.... my other 2 girls I got as adults, 1 is still really skittish and the other is slowly slowly warming up to me...
