Hello :) I have a few hatching egg questions. First can you tell if an egg is fertilized by candling it ? What should I look for ?(Duck eggs if that matters.) second how long can eggs stay out unicubated before they can’t be hatched?

I am not personally hatching eggs but we are giving some to a friend (hence how long) also I don’t want to crack a fertilized egg if possible cause we only have 2 girls and I would like to give them (the friend) 6 fertilized eggs (preferably at once)

You can only tell if an egg has been fertilized by candling if the egg has been incubated for a few days. They can remain fertile for a few weeks, but the likelihood of viability begins to drop after 7 days. So, the fresher the better...

So I should be able to collect eggs for a few day (I am thinking 3 or 4) to give?

Yes.

If they're all fertile she should be able to see development with candling by day 7 of incubation.
I am not incubating so should I just break open next egg to check if it is fertilized? And then maybe break open the last egg before I give them away?

I'm not greatly experienced at visually determining egg fertility and I've never seen a very good photo online but, I'll tell you what I know.

All eggs have a white dot on the yolk, fertile ones will also have a white circle around the white dot.

If you have a drake, and he is mating with your females, your eggs should be fertile unless there's something physically wrong with him or them.
