A free-range mating: Game hen and Red Sex-Link Roo

I have ONLY one rooster. He is a very good and very good-looking Rooster. I have concluded that he is a Red Sex-Link such as a Golden Comet Rooster (by coloring of feathers and general appearance.)

Along with some other hens, I have 2 "black roundhead" hens (game hens), one of which has hidden eggs and gone "broody".
It's approx. 3 weeks setting the eggs. She should hatch some this week.

I'm just wondering what others have found such chicks to be like (in appearence and temperment). It should be an interesting "mutt combination".

I'll post some pictures IF and WHEN some eggs hatch!

In the meantime, does anyone have experiences and/or pictures of this sort of cross?

My curiosity is getting the best of me .......

They will have a production body, probably black or maybe a brownred/black sexlink look..

And the temperment will probably be a little more gamey than the sexlinks but typical game/production fowl can be kept together with no problems. Separations can cause it to start again though if rejoined.. I'd expect also doing this would make some fine broodies/mothers out of the cross...

I've seen rhode island, silkie, leghorns, among other breeds crossed with American games... Silkies were by far my favorite in the crosses though.

I'm quite curious about this mating. Perhaps there will be at least ONE with some interesting features (I'm more interested in things such as temperment, etc. than color, although color is certainly interesting.)

Although "second-nature" to folks with years of experience, this is "new territory" for me and at this late stage of my life, I find it exhilirating and educational..and FUN!
