Later than planned but the chicks are moved in. Might as well use the nice new pens to grow out since no adults for breeding pens. It's only divided in half (and then only to 6') just to let the smaller breeds not get stomped by bigger breeds. Will finish dividing later this year for breeding season when babies are grown and breeders are selected.
Thanks guys, work is still keeping me busy, but setting sights on remodeling the cage next. We've had a lot of rain recently but the boards are staying fairly dry on the bottom, looks like I choose the right high spot. Need to get it painted still asap though.
The remodel of "The Cage" has started. Walls of one side are framed and a couple doors made. Next paycheck will see them wired and hung. Since the outer walls of The Cage are secure, I will be using the PVC garden fence to "wire" the interior walls for budgetary reasons.
I have decided to just treat or paint the cheap plywood for now for budget and since it is very easy to replace at a later date.
Haven't updated this in a while. Made some tough choices and cut way back on breeds and haven't needed to divide them further as the youngsters have just been having the run of "The Cage", but since they're nearing point of lay and I needed some more grow out dividers, I put the finishing touches on "The Cage" remodel for now. All 4 pens now netted and doors. This is where construction stops this year most likely.
