a fuzzy "thing" in nest

    I found this thing that I can only describe as a very large furry egg (3-4 times the size of a normal egg).
    My daughter carefully dissected it and found a normal egg inside. We've asked many people about it and no one has any ideas.

    I wonder if the chicken that layed it is still able to lay eggs!

    Are you missing a hen? I could be a partially decomposed hen that had been killed and partially eaten?

    We have a picture, but unfortunately it's on a cell phone and not one that pic can be printed.

    Are you able to send the pic from your phone to your email? You could then save it to your computer and put it on photobucket or whatever and post it here.

    Oh, I am sooo "technologically illiterate" might as well ask my chickens to do it! lol

    We'll see what we can do, this was such a fascinating thing. (I should have saved it or used a real camera).

    Could have the hen had an accident and laid out her reproductive tract too?
