A Good Old Fashion Rain Coat (Found One!)

ll bean or wearguard.
good luck. I have a great one from bean, but I gained weight and the arm pits don't fit. I figured I'd get in it again some day, but...I just gave up and got wet and learned to enjoy it.

not really. I don't enjoy it. and I really hate trying to remove wet jeans.

I think you are looking for a vulcanized rubber coat I think Madsens has them it may be worth a call. They supply mail order to remote parts of Alaska and you definitely need one there. A hooded one may be difficult to find but they make one called a northeasterer that fishermen wear.

I downloaded their catalog but didn't see anything like what I am looking for. It only showed a couple of styles and they weren't the type I am looking for.

LLBean only has nice stylish ones that I wouldn't want to beat on. I need one that I can work in at home, a good ol' ugly one. I'll check wearguard though, forgot about them!

Know any firemen? I got a firemans coat from my wife's uncle best raincaot I ever had.

My raincoat is my full length "Duster" with a wide brim "Outback" hat. Have you looked for alternatives to your idea of a Yellow poncho style?

Well first, to be clear, I DON'T want a poncho style. I want a jacket style, but preferably knee length. But to answer your question, no, I have not considered alternatives because I have been using alternatives for years. I'm out there in the wind and woods, working, and hats fly off, poncho's get stuck on branches, thin ones rip, short ones get my pants wet, etc etc... so I've really learned from all the bad ones to know exactly what I want this time around. I've always dealt with ones I hate, so this time around I decided to hold out until I can find what I am looking for so I don't keep wasting money.
