A Great Hatch!

After a long string of very bad luck on my hatches, I finally have things sorted out and I have lots of babies hatching out right now!!

I just wanted to say YAY, and to say that when things are going horribly, and when you have an entire hatch that drowned after lockdown, leaving fully formed chicks dead in the shells, and when you feel like you are doing a horrible job.... Keep trying! Make notes and make changes. I know I will have more bad hatches in the future, but this one is going GREAT!

Started with 30 eggs, 26 made it to lockdown (others never even started).

Of those 26, 17 are out and 7 are pipped! Today is only day 21.... Not too shabby!!

I just hatched 6 lav orps in the past 2 days. One has a crossed beak, but seems to be doing well. 3 days ago I also hatched a crossed beak silkie.

Not culling, will keep them here as pets.
