A hen and a pullet acting strange

We lost the pullet over night. Im so incredibly sad. I feel like i let her down. We're going to do a better job about keeping the shop closed more often and keeping fluids off the gravel. Im almost certain that's what did this. Everyone else is 100% fine. The other hen seems to be fine too but still keeping a close eye on her.
I just spoke with my husband who was home with them all day yesterday, and he said she stayed on the house side of the property literally all day and drank water constantly. Then at night time he had to carry her to the coop because she wouldnt go on her own. He set her by the water in there and apparently thats where he found her this morning. Does extreme thirst happen more with a toxin or illness usually?
I'm sorry for your loss.
Drinking water constantly, I associate that with crop issues, but I'm sure there are other things it could be. @azygous should be along in a while.

This may be hard for you, but if you still have the body, can you either send the body to your state lab for testing or do an information necropsy yourself?
You may not be able to find anything without testing, but looking at the organs, crop, intestines, gizzard, etc. may reveal something. A state lab, of course, is more thorough and gives a report of their findings. If you think you can do it yourself, the video is very helpful. Take photos and we can try to help you too. I'm sorry.

Thank you!
I am currently at the vet with the hen. She seemed to improve very temporarily but now looks like she's on the verge of dying as well. So im going to see if we can run some tests on her because i am sure the same thing caused our little one to die. Even if its too late for Papaya, at least I will have an answer and hopefully be able to prevent others from dying too- if it's a contagious sickness. I'll update when i can!

We tested for Coccidiosis just as a precaution and that was negative. The vet we saw really didnt seem to know chickens well. It would've cost me over $400 to run a panel of tests, and over 300 for heavy metals. So they suggested antibiotics for now and see if that helps at all. $100 and 24 hours later, Papaya is basically dead. Laying on her side, cant use her legs whatsoever. Can barely even lift her head. Cant get her to open to her mouth for food or water let alone meds. Cant keep her eyes open for more than 2 seconds. So i told my husband to just put her out of her misery. My husband confirmed that it was in fact coolant that was out in those rain puddles, so im sure these two drank it. No one else is showing any sign of anything still.

I'm so sorry!:hugs

I am glad none of the others are showing any symptoms. Also it seems like you figured out the cause.
I'm not sure if caught early and giving a flush would have helped with coolant. @azygous may know more about that. Activated charcoal ,Epsom Salts or Molasses can be used for flushes - something to consider if you have another that suddenly develops similar symptoms.
