BYC's 2026 Valentine's Day Hatch-Along

I think I will wait till Easter, unless some one else says different. I only want to hatch from my birds if I can.
I have heard that the bullseye degrades after you incubate. So I am not sure if those could have been fertilized eggs or not! I think development doesn’t start until the eggs have been warmed for 24 hours. So if they were 1.5 days old, it might only be 12 hours worth of development and I am not sure what that looks like 🤔

This seems like an interesting project . . . I'm just not sure how you'd go about getting the data . . 🤔

I opened test eggs before the set date. All were clear but below are LO. I don't see bullseye so much, but the top one is dark where the white dot should be,

Feed back?
If they didn't progress beyond being just a yoke, I'd go with they were infertile, as it doesn't appear anything happened.

Oh, wait, before the set date? Well, I don't see any bullseyes on these. They look like some of mine right now lol. When I set, there'll be probably 5 dozen, and I'll hope that half are good as some may have froze too.

This was why I set them. Same egg.

Day 13 - Notes for myself:
6 of 6 BO's developing on Day 10
3 of 5 LA's developing on Day 10; 2 were obviously clear and tossed
2 of 4 BTRs developing on Day 11; 2 were questionable but kept
2 of 5 CPs developing on Day 11; 1 cracked and clear; 2 were questionable but kept

14+ Cream legbar eggs due to arrive Jan 27th, 4 days.

Went to start the incubator today, and discovered we are missing the power cord! Husband seems way more upset about this than I am. He was ready to brave the pre-storm madness at Walmart to see if they have a replacement!

I talked him down from going out to buy a cord tonight, he looked up the type of connector it is and is going to check out the local hardware store in the morning before driving the next town over to check Walmart

Despite arctic temps we managed to grab the 4 eggs laid today before they got too cold! Looks like we're going to have 40-43 eggs to set tomorrow. If it takes longer to get a cord we might have more.
