I had one of my beloved golden hens die today, when I went to shut the chickens tonight she was on the floor.

(crying) I did notice some yellow excrement on the floor...is that a sign of something? Please help...can't let the whole flock suffer.

Sorry for your loss.
Here's a blog with poop examples to help diagnose what she died from. You might need to watch the other chooks for illness.

Thank You! That was very helpful. It was coccidia. I put some ACV mixed with garlic and cayenne in their water so hopefully I can stem the tide. will do that for the next 5 days. I've only noticed one more poop that is watery with a little blood in it. The others seem ok for now. I am checking them often.

To be honest, I'd buy some Corid and treat them all asap, especially if you are seeing bloody poop. If there is blood the cocci numbers have exploded and caused a lot of damage already. ACV may help, it may not. I use it but I do NOT depend on it as a cure, it's just not worth it to me when I can easily save birds that may otherwise die. Corid works really well and it treats all 9 strains of cocci. The problem with waiting to see if the ACV is going to work is that if it doesn't, you may not see symptoms until the birds are extremely sick and on deaths door. Too late to save them at that point, even with Corid. Cocci is one of those things that, if you even suspect it, you are better off to treat and get it under control, it's a fast killer.
