A January Molt???

Those are called lash eggs. It can be a sign of internal laying, so keep an eye on her.

uh ohhhhhhh. the typical internal laying? I have never had an internal layer (that i knew of anyway) before.

Over 30 layers here, and I'm getting 3-4 per day.

Wow. You poor thing!

I have so many eggs right now. My biggest concern is to keep them from freezing while I'm at work.

None of my second year hens are laying at all though. It's to be expected.

Keep your eye on her. Hopefully it will sort itself out. My internal layers laid nothing at all. Something has to be better than nothing. No matter how disgusting the lash eggs are.

I thought it was pretty cool looking actually. I did help her when she was trying to push them out. they were side by side and both tryinig to come out at once. She is the hen that has left me the RECORD eggs. double yolkers, HUGE mommas. She is also on the tiny side for a RSL. Same size as Hope actually. They fit well together. She has no swollen abdomen, normal poops, and is just grumpy while in molt. Her new feathers are coming in so quick!!!! I have to take a photo or two for you guys. Will make you smile. I wish Hopes were coming in this fast.
