A Journey Through a Different Way - Funny Story Pg. 69

Nevermind, I looked it up!

"Furall is a topical antibacterial for the prevention or treatment of bacterial infections of superficial wounds, abrasions and lacerations."

It's a yellow spray on antibacterical. It helps wounds to dry, seems to prevent others from pecking at it, and most importantly keeps flies off.

Edited to say: Sorry I replied before going to next page.

I don't know if it was an upper respiratory disease or not. I only know I found four chicks with left eye swollen and two had a huge mass of infection and swelling in roof of mouth that prevented them from closing their mouth. Those two were culled. For the two I treated, I washed their eye with saline solution, applied eye ointment, cleaned the upper mouth and applied neosporin and kept them inside with terramycin in their water for two weeks. Both got well and have rejoined the flock.

They didn't have any other symptoms like bubbly eyes or sneezing or coughing or nasal discharge so I don't know what they had.

Ok thanks I don't have that obvious of symptoms I here a few chicks sneezing once and a while but I am not sure if its just from the cold or just.

We started the New Year off by building a coop and run for the Marans to be used as a breeder pen, staring with them. DH and I finished after dark last night and then carried them in one by one. This morning they seem adjusted to their new home and everyone else comes and peeks through the wire at them. We still have painting and trim work and clean up and final touches to do but everything around here is a work in progress. We converted an old run-in-shed that had been added onto the old pump house and then we built the run. It's in our orchard where we have been plating lots of fruit trees. I also plan to plant climbing fruit vines like blackberry and raspberry vines along the run's fence. That way the chickens can have anything that grows near the ground and we can have the rest.

I made this gate/door all by myself.

The assorted flock of chicks I hatched from SCBirdFarms eggs are thriving. Here's one of my little "Crazy Professors".

He's an older male beagle but other than that I can't tell much. He's been hiding under table in laundry room/shed since we found him. We did put a notice up in both feed stores and did go to nearest hunting camp and gave them a notice as well. Of course, no one is claiming him.

I guess if we have to keep him, I'll call him Snoopy. But then that doesn't fit in with the Tara theme now does it? So I guess I'll have to finish my GWTW novel I started months ago and see what other character names I can find.

Never a dull moment around here.

Great job on that door, Monique! We're pen building today, between sprinkles. I'm sick of rain!
Hey, your beagle doesn't look like an Ashley, but he could be a Wilkes, LOL. The BC Marans look awesome! I hope all your plans come to fruition this year. You deserve good things, my friend.

Did you use a post digger to put that run in? Also did you use cement to stabalize the posts? I have about 6 of those posts and might make a fixed run not sure though yet.

Thanks,
Henry
