I am somewhat new to BYC (was here for a tiny bit then life called me away... but I'm back, yay!!) and very much enjoyed reading about your experiences with your way of keeping chickens. I have a lot of catching up to do, but let me say I am very sorry about your goats, and many congratulations on your newest family member. She's beautiful!

My second batch of chicks really didn't like much heat- They are at week 2 and even with the lamp up and the part of the brooder at 90 was much too hot for them - so I kept lowering the temp. The house is 75 and they seem to prefer it during the day. Of course it was 105 today outside - my big girls needed ice water and lots of shade! That is hot even for Jax FL.

Monique, thanks so for sharing. It's been 14 years since I held a baby grandchild,,,,Maybe the next will be my great grand child..... Joy pure joy! But he's a boy, so no PTA's, especially when his ball team is playing....smile....
