Generally agree. I do sometimes use vitamin/electrolytes for a max of 2 days...sometimes I don't use it at all.

My chick starter actually had 4 strains of bacteria listed in the nutritional breakdown. Also has a sentence below that says something like "this has live/viable bacteria in it". Not some fancy hand blended, small batch brand either. This is Nutrena, a big mainstream product line. Owned by Cargill as far as I know. So I think skipping the probiotics in the water is fine.

I believe most feeds have 'probiotics' in them. Purina Flock Raiser does.

Because I'm from a Canada it doesn't mean I don't have access to great feed. I actually in certain cases get better than the US can find.
