I recently moved my chicks outside to their coop. I have an A-frame coop/run w/ the run on the bottom and living quarters on top. How do I get them to go up and down the ladder so they don't get to cold at night and so they'll come down to eat/drink? Moving them up and down by hand is getting old quick!!! Any suggestions?

Are you able to lock them in the coop (top section)? Might have to keep in there for a day or two....they usually figure it out on their own.

Well they spent the night in their run lastnight even though it got a little windy and cold. They seemed to of made it since they were up running around this morning.

Hi! I am new to 'chickening' too! Been learning as I go along.....

I have 2 RIR, 7wks old and 2 CuckooMarans, 6wks old. I was 'helping' everyone up to the henhouse at night for about a week. Then on evening #6, the Cuckoo's went up on their own at dusk! I still have to remind my RIR's to go in their house though.......I'm hope-ing they catch on soon! Good luck with your new chicks! ~Beulah
