A little reminder that I think everybody should know on BYC

Very good point Max, I too am guilty of being a social pullet

, though I try to stay up to date on the "practical chicken stuff" on here too.

Very GOOD point Maxx! I have alot of posts and i'm pretty clueless about chicken emergencies and such.....
I always feel bad that i cant help out in the emergency section more.. but i just dont know enough too feel safe giving someone too much advice that might kill their bird....

I view post count in several ways. First, many of us with high counts are dedicated to chickens and dedicated to BYC. This is especially true of the Rob, Terrie and the moderators. Then there are the social butterflies of BYC who may not have PHDs in chicken science but contribute to the culture of BYC. A strong culture means more members with positive attitudes willing to help others, even in non chicken related areas. Finally we have the kids and game players. They, like the butterflies, play their parts in the BYC community also.

So in response to the OP I do agree that someone with a high post count doesn't necessarily know more about chickens but as a rule, they usually do.

Look at the top 30 in this list. There is an awful lot of knowledge there.

Well, yeah, and if we could somehow count all of the posts a poster makes, comments like " I totally agree", "Hmmm, that's a good point" and "

" should hardly count towards ones' resume.
