Hi everyone,

This is a silly question but I really think it will be a special time!

When one of my chickens lays her first egg, what should I use it for? A fried egg, a flat egg, some kind of cake?

I hogged my birds first eggs all to myself.

I fried them over medium and had them with toast.

No I did not feel guilty for not sharing. I worked hard getting the brooder built, coop built, chickens raised and I deserved those first eggs.

I used mine to make MYSELF a special culinary masterpiece, scrambled eggs!

I used a pin to blow the egg out ( made a scrambled egg for myself) rinsed the egg out and put it in a egg basket in my kitchen. Kind of a memento. Like when a kid loses their first tooth. I have a lovely g basket filled with blown out chicken eggs in my country kitchen.

A chick. I believe that's why hens lay them.

I had mine poached over a salad. I also make flatbread pizza with arugula leeks and poached eggs etc. I compost the shells so no ornaments here.

A friend of mine turned her girl's 1st eggs into Christmas ornaments.
