Sophia and Amber woke to the alarm in their room, both moved to shut it off at the same time and ended up hitting the others hand. They looked up to send the other a glare and froze.
"You have ears" Sophia said, pointing
"So do you" Amber retorted.
"Time to get up" Their mother called and knocked on the door. Sophia and Amber's eyes widened "We're up" They called in unison and got up to get dressed, putting on hats to wear to school before leaving their room and catching the bus.

Livia shot up in bed groggily, remembering that she had hit the snooze button more than once. She'd be late for school!she lumped out of bed and dressed quickly in her usual black sweatshirt and skinny jeans. She ran to her bathroom, grabbed her brush and tried to brush her tangled hair. Her eyes widened when she looked in the mirror. This couldn't be real. What was happening? She wasn't sure. But she knew she was going to miss her bus if she didn't hurry up. She brushed the rest of her chocolate-brown curls then grabbed a hat from her bedroom that matched her outfit. It was black and had blue flowers:

She grabbed her back pack, slung it over one shoulder and raced out the door to her bus stop.

Sophia and Amber arrived at the school and went to the cafeteria for breakfast, and so they could talk together.

Keiko woke up, her hair a mess and her eyes droopy. She stood up and grabbed a hair brush. She walked to the mirror and tried brushing her hair, but noticing something on her head. Ears!? she thought, taking a step back. She looked at them more and was amazed, but confused. "How-how!?" She mumbled to herself.

Keiko looked at the clock. "Shoot, I'm gonna be late!" She rushed around, getting ready. "Ugh, what's with these ears!? Probably my imagination and I'm going crazy...." She mumbled, putting on a beanie and racing out the door, grabbing her coat. Before she left, she murmured to herself. "Shhot, dad!" She rushed back in to make him coffee and wake him up. "Dad, I'm leaving, you gotta get up." She pushed him and he moaned. Keiko ran out the door and waited at the bus stop.


Ren woke up, stretching his arms. He tried brushing his hair down with his hands, but something on his head stopped him. They felt like little ears!? Ren jumped out of bed and rushed to the bathroom. He lookee in the mirror to see he had ears!!!! He fell back, almost falling into the bath tub. Then he looked closer at them, examining them. They were little gray and white ears! Ren quickly grabbed his hat and covered his head. He didn't want to see them
"They'll go away...right!?" He asked him self as he wandered his empty mansion, getting ready for school. He ran out the door, walking to school.


Tomoe got up very early, before the sun was rising. He began brushing his hair when he noticed something on his head. He could barely see them because it was still dark in his room. He flipped on the light and fell back. He had large animal ears on his head! He poked them a bit when finally he shook his head. This has to be fake, probably just a prank from one of those dang neighbor kids He thought. He tried pulling them off, but it just hurt his head. They are probably super glued on. I hate those kids.
Tomoe put on a hat and got ready for school. He poured himself a cup of coffee and left for school, walking to the nearest bus stop that was pretty far away.

Jade slapped the alarm a few times, still groggy with sleep. She progressed to her vanity, rubbing sleep out of her eyes. When she opened her eyes, the sight in the mirror shocked her. Okay, maybe it's a prank. She reasoned. She touched an ear. It felt real, warm and alive. She felt the side of her head. No ear. She snapped a finger by her left ear. It functioned. "Interesting." she said aloud. Then she noticed she was still wearing the necklace. She frowned. Jade was a practical person, who didn't take stock in magic. And yet… She took it off - that is, she tried to take it off. Suspicion confirmed. She plopped on her newsboy cap* and set out, really, really hoping she wouldn't have to take it off.
