Nairobi sighed. "Ok. Should I come?" she asked wondering why she was getting so defensive.

Nairobi nodded feeling a tension in the room that she didn't like. They couldn't afford to have tension inside of the village. She smiled. "Thank you. I will be back soon."she said. She took Sades hand and walked out the door. Once outside, she took in a deep breath and headed towards Blue.

Thalia watched her go. She sighed. She went back to her office and took out a file on the Blue village, she had read it a thousand times, but this time was more meaningful.

Preliminary Water Generation Status Report
To leader and inner circle of the Blue

Our lab has researched 3 additional way to create water. Each has advantages and disadvantages:

Portable Inflatable Solar Stills: These work very well in the sunny humid environment but are highly visible subject to wind storms. Our security lead suggests that these are also the least secure (large and easy to find).

GMO Algae: The algae grows very quickly and water can be extracted from it by crushing it. Some people object to the taste but in truth, the extra minerals and vitamins are great for our health. The algae water can be further refined to remove these "impurities". Also, the bi products can be used for animal feed. We can grow the algae in the lab easily, but for large commerical production we need to grow it in the sea in large pens. When we do that, the algae is often consumed by a bloom of tiny planktonic organisms.

By they way, during this algae research we discovered a small local organism that produces TTX, a neuro toxin.

The semi permeable membrane works well but to get to ocean water deep enough to supply pressure, one must travel a ways away from the ship. This is the least productive way to generate water but it could be done on a larger scale and incorporated into submarines or benthic outposts.

None of these methods is near being able to provide the amounts of water collected in the annual rains but they can augment it and provide portable water sources for our exploration teams.

Research continues.

Our lab could use more man power - the best and the brightest please. I understand that they must be cleared through security but urge that that process be streamlines. As you know, water reserves and production are of paramount strategic importance. I suggest that we share our findings with other peaceful outposts but will continue to defer to your wisdom regarding "poly ticks"

Nairobi and Sade arrived at Blue shortly. They stopped at a Cafe to ask for directions to Greta's house. They headed on there way and were there shortly. Nairobi knocked on her door.

Greta opened the door and said, "Ah. Nairobi. And little Sade. I've been expecting you." She opened the door wide and let them in.

Nairobi was a little surprised that she knew they were coming but then remembered that Blue had the best inteligence out of the villages. "Thank you. Actually, I'm just delivering a message. Sade, could you wait outside? Be good."

Greta said, "Ok, I'm listening."

"Thalia would like to have a meeting with you, face to face. She would like you to pick the place as well as the time."

"Mmhhmm. How about my restauant, "The Shack"? In about, 2 hours? Yes tell her. I will be waiting."

"Okay, thank you. Good bye." Nairobi was a little bit creeped out by Greta. She had that all-knowing type aura. Nairobi backed out of the door. She said "Come on Sade" kindof regretting that she had taken her along with her today. They headed back to Thalia's house and were soon knocking on her door again.
