I'm pretty sure that is an egg cracked daily. In a couple of the shots I can see the petri-dish that the egg is in.

The egg in the petree dish is way cool. Scientists have been doing that for awhile. If transfered sterile successfully it does work. For most purposes they're dispatched before they're viable but it's been done full term.

If sterile transfer fails, then at some point the embryo fails. It's a luck and technique thing.
