^*^A New World^*^ (ROLEPLAY)

At a small pond, maybe a block or two from the school, sat Inez. She had made herself comfortable on a fallen log with a bottle of water and a slice of bread, tossing crumbs to the ducks gathered at her feet every so often. Although it wasn't necessarily like Inez to evade education, she felt as though there was something off about class lately; something that she couldn't quite put her finger on... something unthinkable. But, whatever that something was, the risk of indoctrination by it seemed much too high.

The video ended and the teacher flicked the lights back on. "See you Wednesday. We will talk about the video then." She smiled perkily.

Maya got up slowly, not even answering the note Sam have her. She turned on her heel to find Sam already up and walking towards the door. Maya caught up and as they got out of the school building, Maya led Sam to the park that was a few blocks from school. When they got there, they found a bench in the shade next to the pond. "I… uh… found something…" She said slowly. "What?" Sam asked, raising an eyebrow. "A letter. From 30 years ago. From a man named Malcolm Williams." She took out a faded yellow paper that was ripped and, in some places, burned. Sam read it quickly and then read it again. "What's it mean?"

Wes got home quickly to his large, white house. He set his bag on the counter and grabbed a juice box from the fridge. Wes chugged it and went for an apple. After he finished, he did the dishes and took the garbage out. As soon as he came back inside, he sat down on the couch and turned the TV on. "Few hours till Mom and Dad get home..." He muttered to himself.

Kira and Kyle got up and left the classroom together. They headed for the park to spend some time before they would have to be home. Neither wanted to go straight home since their parents had started acting so strange. They talked to each other as they walked, glancing around the park. They headed for the pond to sit in the grass near it.

Inez glanced over at the newcomers for a brief moment, registering them as classmates. She took a quick bite of the bread before continuing to feed the crowd of ducks.
Kira glanced over to her and smiled, recognizing her. Kyle glanced over then looked back to Kira "I don't think it will work, Kira" He said then stood to walk around

Sam read it aloud. "To whoever finds this:

They're coming. Run. Hide. Don't let them catch you. The end is near and if you end up under their rule... The worst is yet to come. Get out while you can. Their reign is impossible to escape. Hurry, leave. Don't do as they say; you'll end up just as bad. You must save the future generations. But, in order to do so, you'll have to work together.

I give you my best wishes - Malcolm Williams; the only sane person left. July 24, 2148" She finished. "What's it supposed to mean?" Maya wondered out loud.

(You stole my line Mantha. *pout*)

Tessa kicked a pebble across the sidewalk. A breeze played with the bits of her hair that weren't held by a hair stick. She fingered the chain of her necklace, an unconscious habit. "Well," she said aloud, "I don't think they taught anything worth knowing."
