A Newbie’s Introduction

Hi All, I’m new to the BYC forums and fairly new to keeping chickens. So just doing a quick intro here.

We have 5 hens - a Plymouth Barred Rock, Rhode Island Red, Easter Egger (laying blue eggs), Buff Orpington and White Legorn. We’re a family of 4 with 2 dogs and we love our girls. They’ve been a great flock this past 6 months and we are now getting 4 eggs a day! We raised them since they were less than a week old and got them at our local feed and seed. We built our own coop, which has a large hen house and run, and alllow the girls to free range daily when supervised (we have a ton of fox, hawks and owls in the area).

We love our girls and couldn’t imagine not having them as part of our family. Happy to finally join BYC!
