For Easter, we bought 6 Red Sex-Link chicks and they were peeping up a storm!
Everything was set up and they moved right in. What's best about the group was that one (now named Snuggles) kept peeping for its mommy (me).
At first my Dad said that she's quit but she wouldn't quit until either me or my my dad picked her up and snuggled her. (hence the name) Also, the moment we put her back in and walked away right back with the peeping!
Snuggles wasn't getting as much sleep so my dad caved and wrapped her in his jacket and put her back in to trick Snuggles into thinking that she was being held. Yet when Snuggles occasinally woke up for for a snack break at 2 in the morning and found Mother Me gone, you guessed it, right to peeping.
My dad got really tired having to wake up during the night but luckily, after a week or two she learned not to peep but come when I call her. Snuggles is the most friendly chicken I've ever owned in around 5 years!
