A pip on day 18???

Just took my diehard broody out for one last time and notice what looks like a pip? Isn’t this too early?? Eggs have been under her since the evening of the 16th.
this is my first hatch I am so nervous but I think I will leave her be now.

It can happen! I've had chicks hatch early, too. Just don't touch it and see what happens.

Looks like it got dented, not a pip. She might have stepped on it or something.

I thought it was dented too at first but there's a bit there that looks like a pip. Where the crack starts on the right.
I'd still keep it just in case.

Maybe. I don't think that much shell would be scratched off though. @jdwilk is any of the crack raised like a tent? Like this

Yes the area that @OneHappyRooster circled looks like that. I will be so sad if she stepped on it!! Can it still survive a couple more days??
