My dad does that. After 40 years of marriage I am surprised my mom hasn't been jailed for homicide.

My DH is moderately whiny when ill compared to some others. Considering the only root canal I've had involved novocaine not working very well, I'll opt for the sick hubby.

Yeah, my DH if he's sick enough to stay home, he's pretty miserable and yes, gets whiny. But at least he stays in bed or on the couch and sleeps most of it off.

But he's taken care of me through a major knee/leg reconstruction, a second major knee surgery, shoulder repair, both ankles repaired and 9 pregnancies. As anyone who has read my posts coming up to the twins coming, I am REALLY whiny and cranky when I can't do anything.

I figured he's earned a few rounds of being really sick and whiny. And with him, it's when he ISN'T whiny that I worry, because then he's shutting everything in, I don't know how he is doing, and I worry.

I have WHAT in my yard? :

Gritty loves her man, but hey we all need to vent sometimes. And none of us have to be fair 'cause we aren't running for nothing!!

Some people may take it as an anti-male rant, but I don't think it really wasn't meant that way by her. Some will look at it as Gritsar looking for sympathy. Maybe a bit, but not all that much. I look at it as she is just starting a conversation and stirring things a little to keep it interesting and see where it goes. She's real good at that. As much as I like Gritsar, I think she knows I usually take Keith's side anyway. He's not on here to defend himself, we need to work a bit to keep her humble sometimes, and besides, don't you agree Keith is usually right?

I'll stay off my "It's not fair" rant, because it's not fair. Nothing is. I'm saving that one for the right occasion.

After an accident which temporarily caused me to lose the use of both hands, anything I have to do for my DH when he is ill will never make up for the things HE had to do for ME. And that's all I'm going to say about that.

Anyone that really knows me knows that Keith is my rock. Any strength I have I get from him. I brag on him all the time.

I really believe that the only reason he allows himself to be sick nowadays is because we are together. The woman (really just a fully grown spoiled child) he was married to for 27 years wouldn't lift a finger to help him, sick or well. He knows that I will take care of him, so it's okay to be sick.
Like I said, tomorrow is my turn and I know that not only will Keith be around to help me, but my eldest stepdaughter will be too.

After getting all the BS out of the way, I am forging a good relationship with her. She saved my butt yesterday when my jeep broke down when I went to town. Keith was asleep and didn't hear the phone ringing. She is babysitting the critters tomorrow while we go to Ft. Smith and she has offered to clean the house while we are gone.
In return I am trying really hard not to be critical if the house isn't cleaned just like I like it. I'm also teaching her skills she wants to have but her mother couldn't be bothered to teach her.

You remember the nonsense that I told you the younger stepdaughter started? Well, it backfired on her and Keith is the only one that will even speak to her anymore. Having got her sister's negative influence out of the way, the elder stepdaughter and I are now able to interact on a mature level.

Well, I did not vote, but...... if you had posted this before January of this year, I would have voted Root Canal! After Hubby's Heart Attack and two stents this Jan/Feb , I would put up with him being whiny and a big baby anytime he is sick..... as long as he is still here for me to have to put up with
