A pretty awful looking eye

Upon examination of the pullet in questions eye today, the swelling appeared less and the yellow stuff, whatever it was was lessened. Still visibly this eye is in distress. I drenched the eye several times with colloidal silver water, and after this procedure could see something along the top of the eye, I gently grabbed what I could see, and it appears that there was a very small piece of debris, looked like shavings with perhaps a little hairy feathery type thing. I believe this may be part of the culprit, and there may be more, but I did not want to be too invasive. I will keep this topic updated with my findings tomorrow. It is important for us to learn, and I have learned something very important through this event and hopefully will learn more. If this is the culprit that caused such a disturbance within the eye socket of the bird, it is quite amazing, as it was just so small. Time will tell the tale. I will keep everyone apprised of my findings. Have that wonderful day, CynthiaMQ.

I agree, quite educational, and thank you for posting in such detail. You know, human eyes are extremely sensitive to a foreign body, and very easily scratched as well; scratching is often not visible without a special dye. I imagine chicken eyes are similar.
