A "pretty" run?

I need to make the run at least a little "pretty". It's on the lot line and my neighbor will be looking at it from her patio. She 100% OK with the chickens, except thinks they should be out more, they are welcome in her yard

Ideas?

You could put a trellis with flowering climbing plants on it around the coop. Or on the side she sees.

My run (which I will try to take pictures of tomorrow!) is pretty large.. I don't know how big you're thinking of making yours... But I have nice fence posts from a split rail fence and ran a top board all the way around. I fenced it in with welded wire. Inside there is a split rail fence (painted) a wrought iron hand lawn-roller (that doesn't work anymore but looks nice!) and I've planted a ton of grass and clover. There are also a few trees in there and some nice rocks and timbers for them to "play" on. I've also hung some things from the trees, like little bird houses and knick knacks (well out of reach). I think it's pretty!

Like I said, I'll try to get pics tomorrow! If I were you I'd think: 1. nice neat fence 2. birdy safe decorations that you don't mind getting poop on!!

mine is large also, but keeping it clean and alittle landscaping goes a long way. I started and am still in the process of putting a nice rock line all the way around the bottom of my fencing on the inside. I also planted two pine trees. But it was in January and they froze out

If you put large and med stones on top of your root balls it will keep the chickens from digging them up and killing them. The tip about a trellis with flowering vines is a great one. It takes some time and trial and error but a pretty run can be done.

Mine is looking rough and I'm going to do some plantings around it, in fact I gatthered up some perennials from the rest of the yard today- heritage day lilies(orange), spearmint, chickory fern,violets, Bethlehem Star. I plan to add others as I go, mainly things I can pick and share with the hens. There will be leafy greens and some cabbage, kale, pumpkin and squash nearby.
