I'm raising mine more for breeding than processing, my protein levels are up around 28%. I have a custom mix I feed all my poultry that our local feed mill mixes (I didn't come up with the mix, a local farmer former Amish guy did) We got some yesterday - $14 per 50 lb bag - compared to $18 here locally for Purina Flock Raiser. I looked into eliminating soy, I would like to, but all the research I did failed to provide adequate substitute nutritionally. If I were just raising to butcher, I would probably eliminate the soy.
