A Question About Ducks - Broodiness?

I hope so too. You know most domestic ducks have the broody instinct bred out of them. Sometimes they have just some of the instincts left, like to make nests, but they have lost too many instincts to hatch out ducklings. So it is always a pleasant suprise when one actually goes broody and is able to get the eggs to hatch. We'll keep our fingers crossed for yours!!

lProbably not, but as an experiment you could try giving them a little bit of corn if they don't already have that in their diet anyway. Not too much or it's not good for them, maybe about 1/10 (just guessing) of what you normally feed them. Some people think it helps them make the broody hormones. Try it for a week and then stop. It so happened I was doing that with my duck before she went broody, so I always wonder about it. I hope it works, but if not you may need to think about Plan B to get ducklings.
