A Question About Golden Sebright Hens

I bought some Golden Sebrights last year (a trio). I noticed when the hens were about six months old that their crowns started turning darker. Almost like a dark purplish color. No bumps or sores, just change in color. No change in activity, etc. The rooster's come never changed, still red as ever. Is this normal for Golden Sebright hens?
