A question about some ducks i found in a park today

So I went to my local park to walk around and i saw a uncountable amount of ducks. I took some pictures of some of them that I found interesting!

The question about them is what kind of ducks are these? Disclaimer that I know almost next to nothing about ducks other than the fact that some of these ducks most likely don't belong there and there pretty social.

I believe duck number 1 and this one are related, they seem pretty similar.

I've heard of these kind of ducks before, forgot the name.

My favorite one!

I also found some crosses!

Cross #1

Ducks with white patterns were pretty common, mainly because of the fact that there were so many pekin ducks (the big white ones)

Didn't expect a puffy hairdo ob another duck that wasnt white! Wasn't disappointed.

Cross #3 (the grey one)

Not sure if the white patch is normal but i beleive this is a cross as well
Many of the "crosses'' are not crosses.

I see Cayugas, the black iridescent ducks and Crested ducks with the poofy crests.

OHHHH. Those poor ducks. So many of them! I can't believe people would just dumb them like that. Those ducks that don't fly do not belong there. They were one day being cared for and then the next they were just dropped there. Ducks are very good at disguising any problems they might have. So there's no way to know how healthy they are. But my guess is they can't be, or won't be for long.
Not to mention the Gene pool that was already discussed. It's my understanding that the new offspring will not be able to fly either. I could be wrong but that's what I've read.

Definetly agree with that! There were also smaller ducks like those black "ducks" with a pointy beak and drakes with red heads. There were even domestic geese! They all seemed fine to me but i only saw one with a swollen red eye but other than that they SEEMED ok

AWWW. What a cute little thing. I bet you just want to take them all home. I know I would. Want to I mean! I wish the city would intervene and also start a public education campaign to prevent more.

Although this particular one is a wild duck. I looked t up. Many of the others aren't.

From what I get you don't have ducks, and probably aren't familiar with what the average duck keepers setup looks like either.
Yeah, your right. I don't have ducks, so I should probably shut up :idunno

I don't doubt any ones care on ducks, I'm sure they are happy! But I was just making the point that the park ducks don't always need rescuing. Often, they live good lives. But either way, im sorry if I offended anyone. That wasn't my intention. :highfive:
