Hello everyone. Can anyone tell me what is the genetics of white muscovy with a black cap? On the site "Ugly duck" it is written that the homozygous for white bird has a cap, and the heterozygous one is completely white. But bird heterozygous for white is not a pied bird? In general, an explanation is needed

Muscovies are not my strong point, but from what I have read, homozygous white birds often hatch with a black cap. Usually, they molt it out later.
yes, I read that too. It turns out that completely white and white with a cap are the same thing? a bit doubtful to be honest :) after all whites produce only whites, and whites with a cap produce whites with a cap. It must be caused by some extra genes

The Muscovies I've had in the past all had said black caps.
