English orpington people help me out! I got yesterday these 9 chicks, my first orpingtons- photo 1. Because the language barrier was so huge, I didn't understand the colors or size. To me those chicks are not bantams. Picture 2 is parents brown and black. Four chicks seems to be like cuckoo? Others? I hope that those are large breed, not bantams- It's a long way from jokes!

I can’t tell from the photo exactly, but it looked to me that Neither of the Parents are bantams, so the babies should not be bantams either.

Yes, the chicks are too big to be a bantams. Hatched August 16 I'm interested in their color or it's random? If you look at pictures of parents, there seems to be buff rooster and black hens. Chicken calculator dosn´t show the color of these chicks. I'll put more pictures.

The parents don’t look like English orps, and I’m guessing by the looks of the chicks that they aren’t very pure and we’re hiding some genes that popped up.

They look like the normal result of a buff x black color cross to me. The buff father is definitely an English Orpington. The black hens look like they’re lower quality, but they are probably pure, too. None of the chicks are cuckoo, they are all mixed colors.

Hi!
Is there are some your personal opinion, why these orpington chicks dosn´t look like orpingtons? Do you breed english orpingtons?

I have a few close friends who do. They do look like Orpingtons, but English Orpingtons will be big beach balls of fluff.
