A question of genetics

yes i know it takes two. But someone once told me that to get pullets that lay colored eggs you had to have a rooster that carried the gene. Anyway, a cushion comb would be really great and I think I can get there because I want to keep a wyandotte rooster plus probably an ee or a buckeye rooster.
