It would've been nice if they ASKED first! Apparently they were the brother, sister, and sister-in-law of our neighbors a couple houses down. Hello?! Knock first! They just waltzed into our backyard! I don't have padlocks on the doors to the run so they could've just walked in and picked them up. Heck i don't know where they've been! Plus I'd hate for one of my birds to hurt the little ones. Jeez! What ever happened to manners and asking first!

And what if we weren't home at the time? UGH!

Frickin' people.....

It was very presumptuous of them to just come into your yard. What is you had a broody protecting her chicks...they can be worse than any rooster. Or heaven forbid they hurt one of your chickens. Not everyone understands chicken behavior and that is a recipe for disaster.

Maybe you need to make a pretty NO TRESPASS sign for your gate. At least that would/should protect you from liability in case of incident.

Ugh...some people!

Yikes! People are so stupid. I'd have a talk with the neighbor they are related to.

It would have been better if they had knocked. However I can't help but think it's good to inter-act with neighbors, even strangers. With all the violence and mistrust nowdays it is always a good thing for people to come together peacfully. Just think of the thrill the kids must have got!

I'm going with TR on this one. My neighbors kids have come over
a few times unannounced to see the chickens. They didn't mean anything
from it.

Where I grew up there were no property lines. All us kids played in every
back yard like the neighborhood was a big park. Every so often we'd get
the jerk who would freak out and even sick his dogs on us. That was a
mistake on his part. His cars and house would alway be the primary
target on mischief night.

As long as the neighborhood kids don't do damage they are always
welcome here. They all run over asking to help when they see me
working outside and they love to pretend to chase me on my bike.

Children are precious.

My kids got blamed for the goat gate being left open a few times and the goats getting out. They were both were very sure they closed the gate. I was not buying it.
Then I watched 3 kids from across the street come into our yard and go down to the goat gate and opened it up! I did not go out and yell (What good would it really done? It would just happen again.) just waited till they left (gate left opened) and went down closed the gate. I then went to the store and bought a great lock for each animal gate/area! Good fences make good neighbours....Plus Locks

People do that around here too. It's so darn annoying!

The lady next door loves to host parties all the time, and people always come over into my yard and look at the chicken/ducks and sit in my tree swing. Um I don't mind showing you the chickens but I don't like people just wondering on to my property!

People can be so rude.
