My roos will do that, especially when they discover a new nest box, or one with fresh straw. They get in and buk-buk-buk excitedly, as if to say "Hey ladies! Here's a great place to lay your eggs!" And I imagine all the hens rolling their eyes and saying sarcastically "Gee, thanks Pal, whatever would we do without you? Why don't YOU lay an egg & show us how it's done?"
