A sad week for our family. ETA:Thank you so much for the kind posts.

Before I became a crazy chicken lady I was the crazy cat lady! I always have to have a cat, or 2, or 3,4,5,....

They all have a special place in my heart and take a piece of it with them when they go. You and your wife are in my thoughts.

Aw I'm so sorry, sounds like they had a great life! I understand what you are feeling; when my husband and I got orders to move overseas we had to give away our two furballs it was awful I cried and cried, we tried so depertely to keep them, but we couldnt afford the $7000 bill to move them overseas and the militray wouldn't help

It makes me so sad, I have no clue what happened to them and it breaks my heart, I still have pictures of them up soo I can see them

I know your pain. I have helped too many pets cross the Rainbow Bridge, it is never easy. But I always dwell back on the words of my father regarding euthenasia...

"They have been there for us, always, now it is our duty to return the favor when they need it the most."

So true, yet so hard.
I will be praying for you, your wife, Little Bit, and Bold. May God bless and comfort you in your time of need-

Terrah

Sitka, I feel your loss keenly. Anyone who has ever allowed an animal into their hearts knows the pain of loss you feel now. I hope that you can take comfort in the belief that they are in a better place now. A place free from pain and discomfort. I also hope that you can take joy in the memories of your special boys and the life you shared with them. And finally, I hope you will give yourself permission to grieve for their loss. Only then can the healing process begin.

Sitka and family,
I am sorry that you lost your 2 loveable cats, Scooter and Billy Purr. I remember how it feels too. We had to put our Jones, an orange tabby, down about 6 years ago. He was 16 years old. He also had hyperthyroidism, then developed cancer too. We adopted him from our humane society when he was just 5 months old. We still miss him and I even still get tears in my eyes looking at his picture and pawprint. (The vets office had him cremated for us. They put his pawprint and name on clay, just like a childs handprint.)
Take care, give everyone hugs.

Val

THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH

On behalf of myself, my wife, and our entire animal family, I would like to thank each and every one of you SO MUCH for the wonderful and meaningful things you said. All of these messages of concern and love have really helped us deal with our loss and have been a great comfort. My wife is still out of town, coming back home on the train, and last night I read her all of your messages over the phone. She was very moved and touched and started crying, not just in grief but in knowing that there were so many people in our BYC family that care and took the time to say so. Your thoughts, prayers, and hugs are MUCH appreciated and have helped us.
All the best,
Jeff ("Sitka"), Lorian, Bold, and Little Bit

ETA: I tried to PM each of you individually, but something seems to be wrong with my computer and/or connection, because they are not going through. I hope you all see this...

We've had to put 3 dogs down. The last two were within 4 months of each other. Sometimes it seems like our dogs just can't seem to go on their own. One of my cats has been missing almost a year now (Aug. 18). I still think about him every day. I'm pretty sure someone in the neighborhood has him, but I wish I knew for sure.
