A silkie what??

Guess what? I have a Buff silkie. It was labeled roo. I got it in Nov. last year. It hasn't crowed or tried to breed since I got it. I started geting silkie eggs ( my other silkie henn is broody so I didn't think it was hers). And this morning I went outside and heard very pitiful crow (thought it was my little chickens) and it was the buff silkie.
Has this happened to you? I am pretty sure its a roo now. Unless a silkie hen can crow?

So he's 6-7 months old? Not unusual at all, for a silkie.

Well he is older than that. He was about 2 1/2 to 3 months when I got him, so about 9 to 10 months

That's actually not that unusual for a silkie. It is for that reason they drive so many of us nuts trying to figure out what they are!
