A sore on my roo's comb

My RIR roo has a place about the size of a dime that has been just like a brownish/blackish/grayish looking stain on his comb for about a week now. Now I'm thinking it was a scab and is now picked/pecked off and I see a sore there. I caught one of the hens pecking it a little just now. What should I do? Put Neosporin on it? Should he be separated from the others for a day or two for it to heal?

A picture would help, but you might be right about a picked scab. Keep it covered with ointment and try to keep the rest from picking at it. Take a look at some of the pages about pox and mites to see if it looks like those.

It possibly could be fowl pox. There's plenty of info here on BYC about fowl pox,some w/ pics.
