A Squirrel Attacked My Chicken!

Good for you. Hope none of the blankety blank squirrels are rabid. They can't infect chickens because they are not mammals but humans are. Please be careful around them.

You need a pellet gun not a BB gun. Squirrels can live up to 20 years so this guy can be a problem for a while. They also make nests in the trees and when they find a place they like they typically don't move so chances are you're going to have to kill him if you want that guy to go away.

but a pet squirrel is one of the cutest things I've ever seen an old lady friend of mine has one and it's pretty awesome.

Oh my. And here I am worrying about coyotes. Man those squirrels are wierd little animals. I never would have thought they would attack chickens because of the size difference, but you learn something new every day I guess.

My hubby said the same thing. So we'll def be using something stronger. That SOB killed one of my April babies yesterday when we went out for a while. Looks like one of the roos put up a fight with it, but man those Squirrels are fast. I never thought I'd be looking over my shoulder all day long

We had to put our white bantam silkie down this morning as a squirrel took one of its wings directly from the side of its chest. I have set a trap and hope to catch it soon.
