A story (about me)

Hoping you have a better year!

My dd would wake up grumpy. My ds would be grumpy at the flip of a coin.I would get cranky around birthdays, because it seemed like parents were spending more and more on parties and I could not compete. Finally decided that we would not spend on parties, and made birthdays a nuclear family event(grandma comes though!),and we give out nice little gift bags at school with seeds and stuff each year instead of spending lots of a rental place. We no longer spend a lot on any holiday. In fact sweetist day is one holiday I tell dh to skip since we can show our love any old day,and I won't do it on that commercialised day.

As for the grumpies I explained to the kids that when one person is in a bad mood it spreads to the others in the family almost like an infection...leaving us all in a bad mood.

One time dd was in a really bad mood when I picked her up from school, and on the way home it almost seemed like a big ol' dark cloud was following us all the way home. That dark cloud settled right over our house...everywhere else it was nice.I told dd her mood brought that cloud of sadness to hang over us.We had a good laugh, and we tease her when we see dark clouds heading our way," Uh-oh someone is in a bad mood...I can see a cloud coming over us."She laughs,we laugh, and the mood is better.
If negativity continues we all get reminded to take it into a private room until we can make it pass.Being in a tense, bad mood house is the pits for everyone.

Wishing your brighter days ahead!

I am a firm believer in that there are no bad days only bad attitudes.
