A Surprise!

I was supposed to get some chicks from a friend who hatched too many once our new coop was ready. Today she texted me and offered to loan me a coop if I could take the chicks now. They want to list the house and need to reduce the chicken population.

So come Monday I'll add 4, straight-run chickens that were *probably* fathered by a Lavender Orpington with SLW mothers. Hatch date was April 10.

Yeah I just bought 2 large commercial style incubators for a price I couldn't refuse. I think each one can hold 100 eggs. Gonna try to sell one for the price I gave for both ($200) and sell some chicks next year at the farmers market.
